How do we consult reference resources? Dictionaries
and grammar books, books and articles in teachers ‘magazines are part of
Reference resources, those are about language and about teaching backing
teacher up in lesson preparation. First of all, teachers should check the form
and use of grammatical structure s. Besides that, teacher’s books most of the
times have detailed explanation, the perfect book to use should be organized in
alphabetical order. Second, they should check
the spelling, pronunciation and the use of lexical items. Dictionaries are
useful for teachers; teacher would be supported by using bilingual dictionaries
or monolingual dictionaries. Furthermore, they should check dictionaries of
collocations, of idioms and phrasal verb for advanced learners. Finally, they
should find out how to use the material, the teacher book provides a guide of
how to use it. Some books include extra
procedures like lead-in activities, war-up, and also extra handout or stickers
at the end of the book. To sum up, Reference sources are all kind of materials
that teacher can use during the teaching process.
