How do we select and use teaching aids?

Nowadays, we have access to technology where teachers could find extra materials as flash cards to develop the class and motivate students to pay attention in class and keep discipline. What does teaching aids include? “They include interactive whiteboards, computers, CD players, DVD players and overhead projectors” (Spratt, Pulverness, & Williams, 2011) It means that hose are real materials that would be used by the teacher for different purposes such as CD player to present the new language in dialogues, songs, stories, where students get the right pronunciation and develop the listening skills. Second, children are visual learners that would be acceptable the use of flashcards, so we see that aids also should be select according to the learner’s needs and also learning strategy. Finally, Realia can be used for teaching vocabulary, individual words where students learn by looking and also by listening to the teacher. To conclude, Puppets, charts, Flashcards are part of teaching aids that is used for many different purposes and according to the learners needs.
